Titanic Royal Resort Hurghada: My Honest Review

Affiliate-disclosure

Looking for a family hotel in Hurghada with a good beach and gluten-free food? Finding one that covers both is not easy, especially when you also need pools, a decent location, and something that works for both kids and adults.

We spent 11 days at Titanic Royal Resort, trying it for the first time. I always prefer a new hotel over returning to the same one, so I can give you a real comparison, not just one opinion.

Titanic Royal Resort has pools, a beach, food, and a location that work well for families and couples. I’ll walk you through each in detail, so you can decide if it fits your trip.

Titanic Royal Resort: Overview

Titanic Royal is a large resort in Hurghada, located directly on a private sandy beach. It’s just 11 km from Hurghada airport and 14 km from the city centre.

It’s an all-inclusive resort with a main buffet restaurant and 4 à la carte restaurants.

The pools and hotel buildings of Titanic Royal Resort in Hurghada, Egypt, lit up at night.

The whole complex is surrounded by beautiful buildings with small turrets, where the rooms are located. In the middle are pools with a bridge, and sunbeds all around.

There are two kids’ pools with slides and a splash area. Some rooms also come with their own private pool.

If you book directly, without a package from a travel agency, a double room costs about $300 per night.

Location

Titanic Royal Resort is located in Hurghada, 11 km from the airport and 14 km from the city centre.

It sits right on a busy road, behind a secured gate. There is nowhere to walk around. No shops, nothing.

You can take a taxi or Uber to Senzo Mall, the largest mall in Hurghada, about a 5-10 minute drive. A bit closer are souvenir shops called Cleopatra, which have fixed prices.

If you take a taxi to the other side, about a half-hour drive, you can reach the city centre, with El Mina El Kabeer Mosque, the marina, and another Cleopatra store on the Corniche.

Opposite that Cleopatra store are small shops where you need to negotiate prices. I do not recommend those. They just try to rip you off. Go to Cleopatra instead, where prices are fixed.

Other than that, there is nothing around the hotel itself. If you want more, you can book tours to the islands, the desert, Luxor, or Cairo.

Rooms and facilities

When you enter Titanic Royal, you are right at the large reception, with many sofas and chairs to sit.

Going to the left, you reach the lobby bar, where you can enjoy a drink during the day and night. From the lobby bar you reach the game centre and shopping centre, and there is also an escalator that takes you down to the main restaurant.

If you take the stairs down from reception, which look exactly like the main staircase on the Titanic Boat, you get outside, where the main stage and restaurants are.

A few more steps and you see the whole complex, with pools in the middle and rooms located around them. It’s a very beautiful architecture.

The kids’ pools and kids’ club are at the end, leading you to the long beach.

You can choose among a double room, a double room swim-up with a private pool, or a family room, which includes two bedrooms.

Rooms are modern, with a large shower, toiletries, a hairdryer, toilet, bed with tables, TV, AC, and tea and coffee with a kettle. There’s also a safe, and every day we got a large bottle of water plus two small bottles, a can of Coke and Sprite in the mini bar.

The rooms were cleaned daily, and towels changed whenever we wanted, just by putting them on the floor. Each room has a balcony or a ground patio.

WiFi is accessible all over the resort, and it worked very well, even on the beach.

Restaurants and bars

Titanic Royal has several restaurants and bars.

Main Restaurant

This is a large restaurant serving buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner, always with a good variety of food.

Breakfast includes many types of bread, pastries, croissants, doughnuts, a warm buffet, eggs, different hams and cheeses, salads, pancakes, and waffles.

Lunch and dinner offer a choice of different meats, potatoes, rice, fries, vegetables, pasta, grilled meat outside, fruits, and endless choices of cakes and Arabic sweets. There’s also a vegan corner.

We were on a gluten-free diet, and I have to say breakfast was not as good as at the Jaz Tamerina hotel we visited last year. They only had one type of bread, shaped like cupcakes, which didn’t taste great and had to be heated up.

We got pancakes but no waffles. Once they made us muffins, but they didn’t taste like muffins, more like a greasy biscuit. I didn’t like them.

Lunches and dinners were good for gluten-free, though. If the meat had a gluten sauce, the kitchen made us a version with a different sauce.

There weren’t many gluten-free cakes, maybe two types, plus puddings. But they made us a cake on request, kept it in the kitchen fridge, and cut a slice from it every evening. We enjoyed the food overall.

A La Carte Restaurants

There are 4 a la carte restaurants, which you need to reserve in advance for dinner: Italian, Asian, Mongolian, and Greek. One dinner in each restaurant during your stay is included.

We tried all except the Greek one and really enjoyed them all. They also prepared special gluten-free meals for us.

Bars

There are several bars: the lobby bar, pool bar, a bar next to the stage, and a beach bar.

Other Food Corners

There’s also a crepe corner serving pancakes during the day, a bun and grill serving burgers and fries in the afternoon, and on the beach an ice cream corner and a pizza corner.

Beach and pools

The beach is a very long stretch of sand, with plenty of sunbeds and huge umbrellas protecting you from the sun, if you want.

The water during our stay was very shallow. And when I say very, I really mean it. In the morning it reached our knees, during the day our ankles, with a sand area in the middle.

The private beach at Titanic Royal Resort in Hurghada, Egypt, with sun loungers and the hotel buildings visible from the water.

We walked about 400 meters past the buoys to be able to swim. But we really loved it. The water was crystal clear, you could see the ground, and it was lovely and warm in August.

There was also an option for snorkeling. One big coral or rock area with colorful fish that we could see even without goggles, which was great entertainment for the kids. One time we even saw a lionfish, which is poisonous, so you need to keep your distance.

Please do not feed the fish, as it can change their behaviour, or even kill them, or attract predators. We learned that later on.

The pools are in the middle of the resort, nicely organised, with a bridge and a pool bar right in between them. Sunbeds are in the middle and around the pools. Some rooms include a private pool.

For beach towels, you receive cards, which you can use to pick up towels every morning near the pools or beach, and return them at the end of the day.

The hotel also offers a free shuttle to the aquapark at their sister hotel, just a couple of minutes away, if you want a bit more water fun during your stay.

Entertainment and customer service

We really enjoyed the entertainment at this resort. There was an evening program, like in every hotel in Egypt. Some days were better than others. It always started with a mini disco, followed by a show.

However, Titanic Royal organised a lot of daytime entertainment, which we hadn’t experienced at any other hotel in Egypt.

Besides the usual yoga, stretching, aqua gym, and darts, they had a shark party, a pink party, and a foam party in the pool, plus a fruit party on the beach. There was also a carnival for kids with cartoon characters.

Customer service was excellent, as always in Egypt. Managers were walking around, checking that everything was good.

Waiters were friendly and smiley, and the restaurant manager took great care of us because of our gluten-free diet, always explaining what we could have and making sure we had everything we needed.

How to book Titanic Royal

You can book it directly here, or through your local travel agency as a package with flight and transfer.

Do I recommend Titanic Royal Resort?

Yes, especially for families with kids. Slides for the little ones, pools and beach for all ages, and a variety of entertainment make it a great beach vacation.

We booked through our local travel agency as a package with flight and transfer, so our price was different from booking direct, but it felt like good value for what you get.

The only thing I’d suggest improving is the variety of bread and cakes for people on a gluten-free diet.

Due to its close proximity to the city centre and a mall, it’s also a great hotel for those who like to explore outside the hotel.
