How To Get Around Dubai

Getting around Dubai is very easy. As Dubai is not a walkable city, there is great public transportation, taxis are widely used and you can also rent a car to be more flexible.

Renting a Car in Dubai

In case you want to be very flexible and you will commute a lot in Dubai, you may be thinking about renting a car. Before going and rent a car you should know that driving in Dubai is not as easy as in some other countries.

Traffic is heavy and there tend to be traffic jams during the peak hours. You must also be extra careful in following all the rules as the fines are high.

To drive in Dubai you will either need your driving license from your country or you will need an international driving license. This varies depending on the country you are from.

Uber and Taxis

Several Taxi companies are running in Dubai. The most convenient is the city taxi which you will recognize by the red roof. You can hail them on the road or book in advance.

Another one is a Careem taxi. To get this taxi, you need to download an application. Through this application, you can also book a Hala Taxi, they also have Hala Junior with children’s car seats available.

Uber is also available in Dubai but it provides more luxurious cars, and it is more expensive. There are still other taxis providing service just from the airport to the city center.

Taxis in Dubai are cheaper than in Europe, so it is quite a good way of transportation in Dubai.

Public Transit

Public transport in Dubai is very good and easy to use. There is a metro which gets to most of the important landmarks. There are also buses and trams.

To use all the public transportation you will need to buy a Nol card which you will top up with a credit and you can travel. When you enter the metro, bus, tram, or even water bus, you just attach the card to the designated place like a credit card and that’s it.

If you are not going to use public transportation often, you can also buy a single ticket.

Can I enter Burj Khalifa from Dubai Mall?

Actually, you can enter Burj Khalifa only from Dubai Mall if you are going to the top of Burj Khalifa. Armani Hotel and Armani Prive nightclub have different entrances. Guests of Armani Hotel have exclusive direct access to Dubai Mall.

Is Dubai good for shopping?

Dubai is a paradise for shopaholics. So many shopping malls with hundreds of different kinds of shops. You can spend days there wandering around. There are also outlets with lower prices and also different souks where you can go shopping.

From December to January there is a Shopping festival that shouldn’t be missed by any shopping lover.

What is so great about the Dubai Mall?
