Choosing the right lodge or hotel can be tricky, but I’ve explored both sides and will help you find the best mid-range and luxury stays for your trip.

Hotels And Lodges On The Zimbabwe Side

1. The Victoria Falls Hotel

If you’re looking for a luxury stay with history and beauty, The Victoria Falls Hotel is an incredible choice. This 5-star Edwardian-style hotel in Zimbabwe is just a short walk from Victoria Falls, and you can even see the falls from the property!

Even though the lodge is in a quiet area, it’s still 20 minutes to town and about 30 minutes to Victoria Falls on foot, or you can easily take a taxi.

The lodge has a relaxing outdoor pool and a bar where you can chill after your adventures. The exceptional customer service here will make your stay even more memorable.

N1 Hotel is a great choice if you’re looking for an affordable stay near Victoria Falls but don’t need a beautiful, authentic African lodge. It’s a simple hotel, but the rooms are modern and clean, offering great value for money.

We stayed here for 2 nights during our trip to Victoria Falls because it was budget-friendly and just a 10-15 minute walk to the falls, which was our main goal.

The hotel has a garden and an outdoor pool where you can relax after a day of exploring. There’s also a restaurant for breakfast, though we didn’t use it during our stay.

If you’re looking for a luxury stay near Victoria Falls, the Royal Livingstone Hotel by Anantara is hard to beat. This 5-star hotel in Livingstone, Zambia, sits right inside Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, so don’t be surprised if you see giraffes and zebras wandering around!

It’s perfect if you’re after a high-end experience and don’t mind spending more. We didn’t stay here, but we did spend some time in the garden, by the pool, and on the terrace while waiting for our tour, and it felt absolutely magical.

The hotel has a beautiful pool with views of the Zambezi River and a terrace where you can sip a drink and take it all in. If you want a luxury hotel near Victoria Falls with incredible scenery, this is definitely one to check out!

The Avani Victoria Falls Resort is the sister hotel to the Royal Livingstone Hotel by Anantara and offers a more budget-friendly stay near Victoria Falls.

This 4-star hotel is inside Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, where zebras and giraffes roam freely, and it’s just a short walk from the falls.

The hotel has two beautiful pools, one on the ground floor and another on the rooftop with stunning river views. There’s also a small pool for kids, making it a great option for families.

Victoria Falls is about a 10-minute drive, so you’re close enough for an easy visit while enjoying a peaceful riverside stay.

The service here is excellent, and if you’re looking for a comfortable and well-priced stay in Livingstone, this is a great choice!

11. Maramba River Lodge

If you’re looking for affordable accommodation near Victoria Falls, Maramba River Lodge is a great option. This 3-star lodge offers good standards at a budget-friendly price.

We stayed here during our trip to Victoria Falls and really enjoyed it! You can choose between tents or chalets. We stayed in a chalet with a comfy bed, a mosquito net, and a small but clean bathroom.

To get around, you’ll need a taxi, but Livingstone town and the Zimbabwe border are just a short ride away. If you want a comfortable stay close to nature without breaking the bank, this place is worth considering!

Where To Stay In Victoria Falls: FAQs

Which side of Victoria Falls is better to stay on?

Which side of Victoria Falls is better to stay on depends on your activities. If your activities are on Zimbabwe’s side, then stay on Zimbabwe. If the activities are on Zambian side, stay in Zambia.

Both sides provide hotels within walking distance of the falls, but if you are on a budget, the Zimbabwe side has more options.

How many days do I need to visit Victoria Falls?

I recommend staying in Victoria Falls for 4 days minimum if you want to explore Victoria Falls from both sides, take part in some activities, and enjoy a safari. If you only want to see the falls, you need 2 days.
