Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Resort and Casino is situated on the Northwest coast of Mahe Island, Seychelles, about a 20-minute drive from the international airport. It is a beautiful resort on popular Beau Vallon Beach, but not one of the most luxurious and very expensive resorts in Seychelles.
We chose this resort for our holiday due to its great location, facilities, and reasonable price. If you are looking for a resort to stay in Seychelles, which is located right at the beach, close to the capital city, has convenient transportation, and good prices, you may consider Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Resort and Casino.
In this blog post, I will provide you with an honest review of this resort where we spent 10 days of our holiday.
As the owner of this website, I’ve included some recommendations for your trips. When you use the links to make a purchase, I may get a small commission. You will not get charged extra. Full disclosure.
Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Resort-review
Where – Mahe, Seychelles
When – All year round, but the best months are from May to November
My rating – 10/10
Rooms and facilities
This hotel is offering standard rooms, superior and deluxe rooms. We stayed in a standard room, which was quite a big room with two beds, several tables, a TV, a sofa, a bathroom, and a balcony.
The rooms have air conditioning, safe, hairdryer, and tea and coffee-making facilities. Everything you need for your beach holiday. The rooms were cleaned and towels were changed daily.
As you step foot into the resort from the main road, you’ll be greeted by a welcoming open reception area adorned with comfortable chairs and tables, providing the perfect spot to relax while you wait for your check-in.
Just a few steps away, you’ll find the restaurant, conveniently located within easy reach from the reception. Continuing your exploration, you’ll discover a delightful bar area and a lush garden adorned with swaying palm trees, inviting chairs, and tables. Amidst this tropical oasis, a pool beckons, offering a refreshing escape from the Seychelles’ warm embrace.
One of the most remarkable aspects of this resort is the direct access to the breathtaking beach, just a stone’s throw away from the enchanting garden. Picture yourself sipping a refreshing drink, whether it’s during the sunny hours of the day or the tranquil evenings while listening sounds of the sea.
But the convenience doesn’t end there. You can luxuriate by the poolside, alternating between a leisurely swim in the sea and a leisurely stroll along the sandy shores, without any need to venture far.
And let’s not forget about the captivating views. On one side, you’ll be treated to an awe-inspiring panorama of the ocean adorned with vibrant sunset, while on the other side, a majestic mountain vista awaits.
Additionally, a sprawling garden awaits in front of the resort, adorned with swaying palm trees, delightful flowers, and inviting benches perfect for capturing memorable photographs.
Restaurants and bars
Within the resort, you’ll discover the inviting Parrot Restaurant, the main dining venue where delectable buffet breakfasts and dinners await. With the option of open-air seating, we found ourselves enjoying our meals here every day as part of our half-board package.
The dinner experience was a culinary delight, offering a diverse array of dishes that spanned local delicacies to international flavors. The ever-changing menu ensured that each evening presented an exciting new selection of dishes.
One traditional dish that we really liked was the octopus curry, with creamy coconut milk where the octopus was cut into small pieces-it was an absolute delight for the taste buds. When it comes to drinks, we fall in love with lemongrass tea.
There are other restaurants within the resort, including Chinese, Indian, teppanyaki, and even a pizzeria. For those seeking a refreshing drink, the Silhouette bar, casino bar, and sand station beach bar provide a lot of options.
Each evening, we enjoyed a variety of cocktails while basking in the serene garden atmosphere, overlooking the magnificent ocean. The experience was a pleasant sensory treat, as we appreciated both the flavors of the expertly crafted beverages and the captivating views that surrounded us.
Beach and pool
As previously mentioned, there is a delightful pool, equipped with comfortable sunbeds and shaded umbrellas, inviting you to relax and soak up the sun’s warmth. While the pool is not very big, it offers enough space for a refreshing swim and moments of leisurely enjoyment.
Moreover, if you prefer the allure of the beach, you need only take a step beyond the pool and resort garden to find yourself immersed in its sandy embrace. Here, too, you’ll discover inviting sunbeds, providing a perfect spot to unwind and bask in the soothing coastal ambiance.
The beautiful beach boasts soft white sands that invite you to sink your toes into their warmth. The tranquil, crystal-clear waters that caress the shoreline offer a perfect respite for swimming and enjoying the gentle waves.
Beau Vallon Beach is a well-known tourist beach, which is not completely secluded like some of the more remote beaches but it remains pleasantly serene without being overly crowded.
You can explore the beach in both directions, by having a lovely walk along. Heading to the right leads you to the picturesque end, adorned with iconic Seychelles granite rocks—a perfect backdrop for capturing memorable holiday photos.
On the left side, you’ll find a diving school that offers an exciting opportunity for underwater exploration. If you’re curious about diving, I highly recommend giving it a try, even if you’ve never experienced it before.
Witnessing the vibrant underwater world, teeming with colorful corals, diverse fish species, and even the majestic sight of a turtle, was truly an unforgettable experience. You can read more about it in my article here.
Entertainment and customer service
In terms of on-site entertainment, the hotel offers limited options. Occasionally, there would be lively evenings featuring disco and live music. Additionally, for those interested, there is a casino available, although we did not personally make use of it.
However, given the nature of this resort as a relaxing and peaceful getaway, we were happy to enjoy our drinks in the serene garden overlooking the ocean.
Nevertheless, the resort boasts an excellent location, with a bus stop conveniently located just a few meters away. The island has a reliable and widespread bus service, allowing you to easily explore various attractions.
You can hop on a bus to visit the capital city of Victoria for sightseeing and souvenir shopping. Additionally, the botanical garden and numerous other beaches scattered across the island are easily accessible.
Equipped with a map, we ventured to three different beaches, each offering its own unique charm. One beach stood completely empty, with only the two of us present, while the other two were also pleasantly uncrowded.
For those seeking further adventures, organized trips to different islands are available. We took the opportunity to visit Praslin and La Digue, two of the most renowned islands in the Seychelles. For the more active individuals, I highly recommend embarking on a hike to the highest peak, Morne Seychellois.
The customer service at the resort was exceptional, with all staff members displaying friendliness and helpfulness throughout our stay. We did not encounter any negative experiences, further enhancing our overall satisfaction with the resort.
