Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Resort and Casino in Mahe Seychelles is a 4* hotel located directly on a popular Beau Vallon beach.

This hotel is not the type of luxury resort that Seychelles is known for. It is rather, a simple hotel for less demanding travelers.

I spent ten days with my friend here and we were pleased with the choice. Therefore I would like to provide you with an honest review, so you can decide whether to stay in this hotel or not.

Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Resort, Review: Overview

We choose Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Resort mostly due to its great location on Mahe Island directly on a sandy beach. It is close to the capital Victoria and to the international airport.

There is also a pool right next to the beach, so you can enjoy the pool and ocean at the same time without the need to walk long distances.

The resort offers several restaurants to choose from. Options for breakfast or half board are available.

The price was also a factor in our decision. For a double room, you will pay between $180 to $300 per night depending on season.

Location

Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Resort is situated on the Northwest coast of Mahe Island, Seychelles, about a 20-minute drive from the international airport.

It sits directly on a long sandy Beau Vallon Beach where you can find restaurants, bars, and diving schools. Therefore, this resort is a great choice for a beach vacation.

There is also a bust stop, just a few meters from the hotel, so you can explore Mahe Island at your own pace.

Rooms and facilities

This hotel offers standard rooms, superior, and deluxe rooms. We stayed in a standard room, which was quite a big room with two beds, several tables, a TV, a sofa, and a bathroom.

All rooms are air-conditioned with free Wifi. Superior and Deluxe rooms have a terrace or balcony.

We were not looking for high standards. All we wanted was a clean and comfortable room to sleep and have a shower, so we were happy with the room.

From the main road, you enter an open reception area with comfortable chairs and tables, providing the perfect spot to relax while you wait for your check-in.

From the reception, you have direct access to the restaurants and when you continue further, you will reach a garden with palm trees, flowers, and pools.

Behind the fence after the pool is the beach with free sunbeds. The garden has two stunning views. On one side is the ocean, and on the other is a mountain.

Restaurants and bars

The resort offers several restaurants with different cuisines and bars.

• Parrot Restaurant- We tried only this restaurant as we had half board. It serves international buffet breakfasts and themed dinners. Breakfast offers a variety of food to choose from.
  Dinners were also in the form of buffets so we could have what we saw as the most appealing to us. We tried many Seychelles dishes, for example, octopus curry with coconut milk. We also fell in love with lemongrass tea. We really enjoyed the food here.
• Indian restaurant- you can taste Indian cuisine and specialty tandoori dishes.
• Teppanyaki Counter- freshly cooked teppanyaki dishes.
• Le Canton- Chinese-style restaurant where you will taste Chinese cuisine
• Pizzeria- is an open-air casual restaurant located on the beach that serves Italian cuisine
• Silhouette Bar- an open-air bar where you can enjoy drinks with live music in the evening. We tried some cocktails over a few nights and we enjoyed them.
• Beach Bar-enjoy drinks and snacks next to the pool
• Casino Bar- Provides alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages

Beach and pools

Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Resort sits directly on Beau Vallon Beach, a popular long sandy beach where you can enjoy walks on both sides of the hotels.

On one side you will find typical Seychelles granite rocks where you can take some pictures, on the other side is a diving school.

We really enjoyed the time spent on the beach where the hotel provides free sunbeds. The entrance to the ocean is gradual, but the water gets deeper which is ideal for swimming. The ground is sandy, no need for shoes.

There are two pools in the hotel, right next to the beach. One of the pools is a kid’s pool and they are located in the garden with a stunning view of the ocean and mountain on the other side. Sunbeds next to the pool are also available.

Entertainment and customer service

In terms of on-site entertainment, the hotel offers limited options. Occasionally, there would be lively evenings featuring disco and live music. The hotel provides a casino, which we didn’t visit.

However, we really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere with our drinks and the sounds of the ocean.

Also, the bus stop is next to the hotel, so you can explore the island and visit different places of interest, like Victoria City, a botanical garden, secluded beaches, a museum, and more.

Customer service during our stay was very good, people were friendly and helpful. Our room was cleaned daily. We didn’t have any negative experiences.

When we were planning a holiday to Seychelles, we were looking for a hotel right on the beach, close to the capital city for a reasonable price as Seychelles is not a cheap destination.

Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Resort fulfilled our expectations. We had a clean room with a shower every day, the food was delicious, beautiful, and relaxing beach and pool.

Bus service to explore the island was very convenient, so we really had a great time in this hotel.

Again, this hotel is for less demanding travelers, not looking for a luxury stay. However, if you want to visit Seychelles and your budget is not high, it is a great choice.
